Who we are

The Airbus Foundation is an independent corporate foundation under French law, established in December 2008 to support charitable initiatives around the world. In line with Airbus’ social value ambition, we aim to contribute towards secure, resilient and thriving communities.

As a separate legal entity, we operate on a non-profit basis. Funded by Airbus Commercial, Airbus Helicopters and Airbus Defence and Space, the Foundation works globally, building partnerships with NGOs and associations to deliver meaningful and measurable impact.

What we do

We focus on three key areas:

  • Humanitarian response
  • Environmental action
  • Youth development

Across all of our activities, we provide in-kind support by unlocking access to Airbus products, services and expertise. This includes aviation capabilities, satellite data and technical knowledge that help partners deliver their work more effectively.

All actions are guided by three core principles: neutrality, impartiality and operational independence.

How we are governed

We are governed by a Board of Directors, which provides strategic oversight.

The Board brings together representatives from the founding Airbus companies, employee representatives and independent external experts. This structure ensures a balanced approach, combining industry knowledge, employee insight and topic expertise.

Our operations, partnerships and programmes are managed by Airbus’ social value team.
