Supporting measurable outcomes
Since 2008, the Airbus Foundation has been an active collaborator for long-term change. Through two-way partnerships, we share unique aerospace resources with organisations to deliver scalable impact and tackle some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

Flexible funding to boost airfreight capacity with Airlink
The Airbus Foundation’s partnership with Airlink helped deliver critical airfreight capacity for NGOs facing funding cuts and the mounting demands of long-term and emergency humanitarian crises. Across 15 humanitarian missions together, we rapidly and efficiently provided flexible funding, leaving NGOs better able to allocate their resources to life-saving aid.
Key impacts included generating 3.21 million US dollars in transportation savings for NGOs and reaching 1.15 million people facing acute shortages of medicine and food.
Supporting biodiversity with Connected Conservation Foundation
Working with the Connected Conservation Foundation (CCF), the Airbus Foundation harnessed precision aerospace technology to support biodiversity conservation and strengthen community knowledge and resilience. Through the unique Satellites for Biodiversity Awards, we provided NGOs with very high resolution (VHR) satellite imagery to help monitor endangered species and protect natural ecosystems.
Key impacts included supporting the protection of elephants, Andean bears, giant pangolins and other species across Asia, Africa and South America by providing 12,204 km2 of VHR imagery across eight countries to support ongoing effective ecosystem and biodiversity actions.
Providing helicopter capacity with the World Food Programme
In partnership with the World Food Programme Logistics Cluster, the Airbus Foundation provided helicopter support for NGOs responding to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Burkina Faso. Through the provision of reliable, predictable transport, hard-to-reach communities received critical supplies including therapeutic food, child vaccinations and maternal healthcare supplies.
Key impacts included supporting 23 organisations working directly with local communities, transporting 67.8 tonnes of aid and supporting the delivery of medical treatments to more than 94,000 people in need.
Using AI to inspire critical thinking in young people
FAIR ENOUGH, an award-winning interactive series about artificial intelligence (AI) designed by the Airbus Foundation, was used to inspire 13 and 14-year-olds in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. As part of a collaboration with Lecture Jeunesse, a French NGO dedicated to encouraging teenagers to read and write, we provided teachers with a free, high-quality educational resource and supported young people’s critical thinking skills.
A key impact was supporting Lecture Jeunesse’s Cortex programme, so teachers could become better equipped to identify and raise awareness of current AI-related challenges among young people.
Strengthening healthcare with Fondation de l’Académie de Médecine
The Airbus Foundation partnered with the Fondation de l’Académie de Médecine (FAM) to deliver life-saving Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) training in Mongolia, India, South Africa and Chile. Our interdisciplinary approach brought together doctors, nurses, pilots and other professionals, and the ‘train the trainer’ model helped to create self-sustaining HEMS systems in these regions.
Key impacts included training 353 medical professionals and adapting practical and theoretical training symposia to meet the needs of countries at different stages of their HEMS development.
